If you follow me you know I use an AI program, Midjourney, to help me bring the characters and scenes I create to life. One of the challenges I have had is creating realistic images of gods and creatures that combine aspects of man and animal.
Of these, Manitou has been the most challenging. A man with the head and antlers of an elk, the Manitou is, in most First Nation myths, a powerful, benevolent spirit that brings people to greater truths. Confronted by the Manitou, sometimes people see the good in themselves. Sometimes they see evil. A meeting with the Manitou is always an epiphany.
The Manitou is known throughout the Americas and most of Europe in many names with similar forms. The commonalities are the body of a man and the head of an elk or deer.
To create the image of the Manitou I imagined for The Divided Man Book One, I had to create an image of an elk, an image of a Native American warrior, and a snowstorm, and combine them together. It was a great exercise to help me master my evolving @krita image editing skills.
If you are an AI art user and want to play with The Divided Man Book One characters and scenes, by all means do and please share them with me. I will use them, with credit to you, in an upcoming graphic version of The Divided Man Book One.
Life is a Hoop,
John
